    You can report a problem on the Support page. You can also submit an error when an error occurs while using Sharegate.

  • What are the SharePoint versions supported by Sharegate?

    • SharePoint 2003 (WSS 2.0)

  • What are the limitations with the trial version?

    Sharegate trial is available for 15 days and you can only copy 5 items at a time.
  • What are the authentications supported by Sharegate?

    All
  • How can I connect to Office 365 or SharePoint Online?

    Select the Manual Authentication method when connecting to SharePoint.
  • Can I move files and folders from my network drives to SharePoint?

    Yes. You must map your network drives to your computer.
  • Can I copy documents from 2007 to 2010?

    Perfectly
  • Can I copy content from SharePoint 2003?

    Yes. Sharegate allows users to migrate directly from SharePoint 2003 to SharePoint 2010.
  • How can I maintain my metadata if the column names are different between my source and destination?

    Sharegate allows users to remap their metadata properties. The property mapper is available in the ribbon menu.
  • Can I copy content from one SharePoint farm to another?

    Perfectly
  • Can I maintain the version history?

    Yes. When you create a new property template, you must check the “Keep version history”.
  • What privileges are required to preserve the system properties (Created, Created at, Modified and Modified at)?

    Full control privileges on the site (not necessarily the site collection) containing the list/library.
  • Can I move content from one site collection to another?

    Yes
  • Is copying large files to SharePoint supported?

    Yes but you must configure the timeout value in Microsoft IIS.

  • Can I copy a complex folder hierarchy to SharePoint?

    Absolutely
  • Do I need to buy a license for all SharePoint users in my organization?

    No. You only need licenses for users that are using the Sharegate product.

  • Do you offer free licenses to SharePoint MVPs?

    Yes. Sharegate offers free licenses for MVPs. Contact us at sales@share-gate.com.
  • Do you offer an academic discount?

    Yes. Contact us at sales@share-gate.com.
  • Can I transfer my license to another user?

    Yes. You can transfer licenses between users within the same organization. In the options, a license can be deactivated and re-activated on another computer.
  • Does Sharegate require a server-side installation?

    No. It’s only required if you want to maintain the author when copying to SharePoint 2007.
  • What’s the Sharegate extension?

    It’s a small Web service installed on the SharePoint Web Front-end that gets rid of SharePoint 2007 built-in Web services limitations.
  • Can I install Sharegate on an Apple (MAC) computer?

    No. It runs on the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.
  • Do I need the administrator privileges to use Sharegate?

    No. It supports the security trimming. Sharegate was designed for SharePoint power users, not just for the administrators.
