While the Sharegate Devs are working hard on some new and exciting features for you to manage your environment after migration, it doesn’t mean we’re not continuously improving it. Before you begin to run the actual migration, it’s crucial to have a detailed inventory of what you have.
This release adds details to our very popular File Share Inventory feature to better help you estimate the effort of the migration, as well as fix any potential issues. Know before you go!
File Share Inventory Before a SharePoint Migration
With just a few clicks, you can select your entire mapped network drive, or just a few folders within, and assess the effort of your migration. Sharegate Inventory will, in often seconds, scan the entire directory and quickly identify:
- Number of files
- Total Size
- Estimated Migration Time
- Detailed Warnings and Errors
The updated details view will show you everything you need to know.
With this information on hand, you can better estimate your migration effort and plan accordingly.
The inventory is available with a Sharegate license. Download it now and start assessing your File Share to SharePoint migration.
Migrate Your Nintex Forms and Workflows to SharePoint 2016
For a while now, we’ve been working with the folks over at Nintex to bring you the best migration of Workflows, their actions, and the Forms you created.
As Nintex’s only recommended partner for migration, we work very closely with their developers to give you the best support possible. And, as they released support for SharePoint 2016, so too were we ready with support for migrating workflows.
Over the last few months, we noticed that more and more of our customers have been using Sharegate to copy their Workflows and Forms, even across sites and environments. Check out the video to find out more.
Microsoft Framework .NET 4.6
With this new Sharegate release comes a major Microsoft Framework .NET update. If you wish to run the latest Sharegate version, you will have to update your machine to .NET 4.6. Today’s release also marks the end of Windows XP support. Contact our support team if you have any questions or issues.
What’s next for Sharegate?
June was a big month and we have a whole lot in the works. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, our CMO Jean-Luc Brisebois has released a detailed post on what’s going on inside of Sharegate.
There you’ll find out about some of the things we’re working on, like Sharegate Online, and the upcoming unification of our tools. Very exciting, couldn’t be more proud of working with awesome friends, and continuing to deliver feature after feature.
